| Siemens | Dishwashers | E10 (E:10) | Fault in the dishwasher's drying system: contact Siemens service. |
| Electrolux, AEG & Zanussi | Fridge freezers | E10 | The fridge compartment is not cold enough (often after a power cut or warm food). |

Washing machines
On most washing machines that use it, E10 is a water-fill problem: the machine expected water and did not get enough, fast enough.
Dishwashers
On Bosch and Siemens dishwashers E10 points to the drying system, not the water supply. Other brands use the code differently.
Fridge freezers
On Electrolux-group fridge freezers E10 is a temperature warning: the fridge compartment is not cold enough yet.
Gas water heaters
Tankless (continuous-flow) gas water heaters show "10" for combustion or air/exhaust problems. Treat it as a gas-safety warning.
How we write these pages
Every meaning on e10.help comes from the manufacturer's own support page, manual or technical bulletin, linked at the bottom of each page with the date we checked it. Where repair blogs disagree with the maker, we follow the maker and say so. If we cannot find an official meaning for a brand, we do not publish a guess.
Fixes are ordered from safe owner checks (taps, filters, vents, a power reset) to the point where you should stop and call a qualified technician. Gas and mains-electric repairs are always a pro job. Read our safety notes.
FAQ
What does E10 mean on an appliance?
There is no universal meaning. On Electrolux, AEG, Zanussi and Westinghouse washing machines it is a water-fill problem; on Bosch and Siemens dishwashers it is a drying-system fault; on Electrolux-group fridge freezers it means the fridge is not cold enough; on Rinnai, Noritz and Rheem tankless gas water heaters code 10 is an air, exhaust or combustion problem.
Can I reset an E10 error?
A power reset (off for 30–60 seconds) is the first step for most brands and clears one-off glitches. If the code comes back, follow the brand page checks or call a technician.
Is E10 on my appliance related to E10 petrol?
No. E10 petrol is a fuel with up to 10% ethanol. If that is what you need, see our sister site e10.codes.
