Safety first

Most E10 fixes are simple owner checks: a tap, a filter, a vent, a power reset. Some are not. Use these rules before you touch anything.

Water (washing machines, dishwashers)

Unplug the machine before you pull it out or touch the back, and turn off the water tap before removing hoses. Keep a towel and a shallow tray ready: hoses and filters always hold some water.

Electricity (all appliances)

Switch the appliance off at the wall or breaker before you open any panel. Heaters, pumps and control boards run on mains voltage: replacing them is a job for a qualified technician. Never run an appliance with its cover off, and never bypass a safety switch or door lock.

Gas (water heaters, boilers)

If you smell gas, do not touch switches: leave, then call your gas emergency number from outside. Only a licensed gas fitter/plumber may open the unit, change venting or adjust gas pressure. Owners may check that outside vents are clear and reset the unit. Blocked vents can push exhaust gases, including carbon monoxide, back into the home. Fit a carbon monoxide alarm near gas appliances and test it monthly.

Warranty

Opening an appliance or using non-approved parts can void the warranty. If yours is still under warranty, call the manufacturer first.
